1. Initial Consultation

We start with a discovery call or online meeting to learn about your business, current accounting processes, and goals. It’s an open conversation where we answer your questions, outline how we can help, and determine pricing. By the end, you’ll know exactly what working with your Chief Bookkeeping Officer looks like and whether we’re the right fit.

How We Work

We work alongside you to keep your financials clean, current, and useful. Your CBO handles the details, the reconciliations, and the reviews so you always have clarity when you need it. It’s bookkeeping that supports your decisions, not bookkeeping that slows you down.

The Chief Bookkeeping Officer Process

2. Engage and Onboard

Icon of a pen and paper.

Once you’re ready to move forward, we formalize the engagement with a straight-forward contract outlining our scope of work and deliverables. After signing, we'll guide you on providing access to your accounts: QuickBooks Online, banks, credit cards, and payroll. Those accesses help streamline your bookkeeping, making it as hands-off as possible.

3. Book Clean-Up

If your books need historical clean-up, we help reconcile past periods, correct errors, and bring everything current so your financials are dependable. When the books are in good shape, we focus on refining your Chart of Accounts, ensuring it’s structured to give you meaningful reporting going forward. Either way, you start with a clean foundation for consistent bookkeeping.

4. Ongoing Bookkeeping

We maintain your books on a set schedule, with weekly or monthly frequency available, and deliver reports through your client portal so you always know where things stand. Each month-end includes reconciliations, transaction categorizations, review notes, and updated financials like your profit and loss and balance sheet, giving you a picture of performance at a glance.

5. Review & Collaboration

Every reporting cycle goes through an internal review process not just by your assigned CBO, but also by other CBOs of our team for quality control. This layered review ensures accuracy, consistency, and a second set of eyes on your financials. We’re always available to answer questions by email and can coordinate directly with your CPA or CFO when needed.
